InstaDB offers many functionalities and improvements and the most important of them are listed below. Every one is available out of the box in any table you create.
Every column added to a table is automatically accessible in the table filters. Moreover, in the case of references, you may filter using any parameter of referee tables.
Export to xls or csv is simple. You just copy-paste or download a csv file.
It is easy to show, hide and change the order of columns. The Reset View button always restores the default column composition.
You may easily organize table columns into sections called "groups". Groups can contain not only table fields but also lists of records from other tables which refer to the record you are looking at.
The "Edit table" tool lets you edit multiple records on one screen – similar to a spreadsheet.
Pivots generator can be used in every table and every view. Pivot reports can be created ad hoc or saved in the database schema to share with other users.
You may use any column (including columns of referee tables) for sorting your records. You may compose several filters to get a hierarchical order.
Importing from spreadsheets is supported. InstaDB checks whether the formats are correct and referenced records exist in the database. Before any update, a preview of changes is displayed in order to avoid unwanted changes.
The file column is designed to represent stored files. Files are not saved to a database directly, but written to the file system. Downloading of multiple files is also accessible.
It is easy to invite other users to a database. Just type his/her e-mail and select a set of roles.
InstaDB fully supports access control. It can be defined per table/column or per record. Any set of rules is accessible, including SQL expressions.
Every change in a record is automatically registered. The record of a changes includes the user name who made the change, exact time and date and the modified values.
